15 PAC players named All-State

Fifteen Pioneer Athletic Conference field hockey players were among the 186 players named to their respective All-State Teams, as announced by the PA High School Field Hockey Coaches Associatio­n (PHSFHCA) earlier this month.

Coming off their unbeaten PAC title run this past fall season, Methacton put five players on the PIAA Class 3A Team — in- The sophomore kicked off her season with the Rider cluding three first team selections— while Perkiomen Valley featured four representa­tives in all on the season, including junior Gabriella Martina, a First-Team selection.

women’s indoor track team with an impressive effort at the Lehigh Season Opener on Dec. 1 in Bethlehem. Churchvill­e finished second out of 41 runners in the 60-meter dash in 7.93 and then finished second out of 45 sprinters in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.69. She finished fifth in the 60 and sixth in the 200 at the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Indoor Championsh­ips last winter as a freshman.

The 6-foot-1 senior center is averaging 6.2 points and 2.9 rebounds for the Manhattan women’s basketball team, the Jaspers 3-8 after a 69-47 loss to Virginia last Thursday in Charlottes­ville, Va. Guiton had a season-high 17 points in a season-opening 74-59 loss to Stony Brook on Nov. 11 and had 11 points in a 87-66 loss to California on Nov. 24. Last season, she averaged 6.6 points and 3.4 rebounds in 27 games and 17 starts and she had a college career high 22 points against Niagara on Jan. 15. has started all eight games for the Elizabetht­own women’s basketball team, the Blue Jays 5-3 overall and 1-0 in Landmark Conference play after a 73-56 loss to unbeaten and 18th-ranked Muhlenberg on Dec. 16 in Allentown. Beyer is averaging 9.6 points and 4.1 rebounds with 13 assists and nine steals. She had a season-high 22 points, aided by 5-for-9 from 3-point range, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals in an 80-62 victory over Lebanon Valley on Nov. 22

Bloomsburg senior Yenney was named a United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division II All-East Region Women’s Scholar it was announced on Dec. 11. She has a cumulative grade point average of 3.77 majoring in physics. On the field, Yenney had career highs in goals (four), assists (five) and points (13) starting all 18 games for the Huskies who finished 9-6-3 overall and 8-6-3 in PSAC play. She earned All-PSAC third teamfor her effort. She was a third-teampick as a freshman as well.
