PHOENIXVIL­LE » Phoenixvil­le Police responded to 176 calls for service, including 11 traffic accidents, between March 19 and March

29. The following is a list of notable incidents as reported by Phoenixvil­le Police:

• On March 19 at 12:34 a.m., Officer Dobry found a homeless man sleeping inside the Phoenixvil­le Laundromat on W. Bridge Street. The man told the officer that he missed the 10 p.m. curfew at the Code Blue shelter. The officer drove the man to the shelter and the staff made an exception and let him stay the night.

• On March 19 at 11:33 p.m., a resident was walking his dog in the 400 block of High Street when he saw someone hiding in a bush. As he walked past the bush, the figure said, “You are going to die” and the lurker started following the caller down the sidewalk. The resident called 911 when he got home and officers checked the area but could not locate the individual.

• On March 20 at 5:57 p.m., police responded to a home in the unit block of High Street for a domestic dispute involving a woman and her daughter. The officers quickly learned that the daughter was a wanted woman out of Centre County. The 34-year-old daughter was arrested and taken to Chester County Prison and then transferre­d to Centre County.

• At 8 a.m. on March 21, police ticketed and towed 23 cars along the designated snow emergency route.

• On March 21 at 3:28 p.m., a resident in the 100 block of Carson Street reported that there was a package by his front door but there were no footprints in the snow leading up to the door so he wasn’t sure how it got there. Officer Stabilo inspected the package and it was from Publisher’s Clearing House.

• At 10:02 p.m. on March 21, Officer Glennon observed a man stumbling up the sidewalk in the 400 block of Bridge Street. The man was intoxicate­d and nearly fell as the officer approached. The 25-year-old Phoenixvil­le man was arrested for public drunkennes­s and released to his mom at the police station.

• At 3:34 a.m. on March 23, police responded to the 7-Eleven convenienc­e store for the report of a man requesting a ride home. The 58-year-old man, a military veteran, had just been released from Phoenixvil­le Hospital. Officer Fusco gave the man a ride home to the Southeaste­rn Veteran’s Center in Spring City.

• On March 23 at 5:40 p.m., the management at Westridge Gardens reported that they recently evicted a tenant and discovered he left a rifle behind in a closet inside the apartment. Officer Knapp responded and determined that it was a child’s plastic toy gun.

• On March 23, between 7:53 p.m. and 12:58 a.m., police responded to an apartment in Riverworks three times for a loud party. The first visit resulted in a warning and the ensuing visits resulted in two summonses for disorderly conduct.

• At 10 p.m. on March 23, Officer Bryan stopped the driver of a Saturn View because the car had a suspended registrati­on plate and discovered that the driver was smoking while driving. The 38- year-old Norristown man had a marijuana roach next to him on the passenger seat so he was charged with the drug violation.

• On March 24 at 12:12 a.m., Officer Fusco stopped the driver of a Dodge Dart for speeding on Route 29. The driver, 21, of East Pikeland, and his passenger, a 21-year-old man from Woodside, NY were charged with marijuana violations and the driver got a speeding ticket.

• On March 24 at 1:05 p.m., an employee at Giant watched a customer take three high-end lip balms by hiding them in her purse. The employee headed the shoplifter off in the parking lot and held her there until the police arrived. Kristie Patton, 33 of Spring City, was arrested on a misdemeano­r shopliftin­g charge because it was her second offense. The lip products were valued at $14.97.

• At 3:35 p.m. on March 24, police responded to the second floor of the Phoenix View apartments for the report of marijuana smoke coming from an apartment. Officer MacDonald followed the smoke to an apartment and knocked on the door. When the tenant opened the door and saw the officer, he tried to slam the door closed but the officer blocked it with his foot. After a brief struggle, the tenant relented and surrendere­d his stash which was hidden inside a pizza box on his bed, police said. The 40-year-old man was charged with the marijuana violation.

• On March 24 at 7:08 p.m., police responded to the intersecti­on of Dayton Street and Almond Drive for the report of an unconsciou­s man on the sidewalk. Officer Gray located an intoxicate­d 35- year-old Norristown man who informed the officer he was walking home to Norristown but got tired and decided to rest. The man refused medical treatment so he was arrested for public drunkennes­s and released to a friend. The man later reported that he lost his wallet so Officer Gray retraced the man’s path and found his wallet about 30 yards from the spot where he was found unconsciou­s.

• On March 25 at 7:33 p.m., a resident in the unit block of Hall Street reported that he was walking by his neighbor’s house and the neighbor’s two pit bulls burst through the front door and attacked him. The victim was bitten on the right arm. The incident is being investigat­ed by the Chester County Dog Warden and the SPCA.

• At 12:04 a.m. on March 28, Officer “Dutch” Duchnosky noticed a parked car tucked away in the corner of the Kmart parking lot. The officer approached and found two men who had just finished smoking some marijuana and were drinking a big can of Bud Ice. The passenger, a 51-year-old Spring City man, claimed ownership of the beer so he was issued a summons for the violation. The car was searched but no marijuana was found.

• On March 29 at 3:24 a.m., police responded to the 100 block of Church Street for the report of a suspicious vehicle driving slowly in the area. Officer Gray encountere­d an elderly man who was trying to find Pottstown Hospital. The officer called the hospital and was informed the man was supposed to pick his wife up five hours earlier but never showed. The officer escorted the man to Pottstown Hospital where his wife explained that her husband has trouble navigating in the dark. She assured the officer that she knows the way home.
