Spring-Ford baseball blanks Methacton, 9-0

Three pitchers combined on a four-hit shutout Thursday to key the Spring-Ford baseball team’s 9-0 victory over Methacton in Pioneer Athletic Conference Liberty Division play.

Grant Calvarese threw five innings of three-hit, five-strikeout ball before David McCurry and Chris Boggs finished it out. Calvarese was credited with the winning decision.

At the plate. Spring-Ford was led by Nate Campbell’s 2-for-3 effort that included a double, one RBI and two runs scored. Ben Christian was Methacton’s leading batter, going 2-for-3. a pair of RBI.

10, OT » Taking their PAC Liberty Division game beyond regulation, the Vikings edged the Bears on the strength of Kat Kelley’s overtime goal.

Paige Tyson had six goals to lead PV, Riley McGettigan added a hat trick and Kelly and Tori Bruno chipped in with two apiece. Sydney Fox, Ashley Dierolf and Amanda Diachynsky each scored pairs of goals to lead Boyertown.

Lauren Constantin­e finished with four goals and an assist while Cassie Marte (assist) and Olivia Yeagle netted hat tricks in the win. Jordan Nitto, Katie Metzler (three assists) Mac Doyle (two assists) and Mac Maloney each scored twice while Lauren Ruffo finished with five saves in net.
