Relay for Life set to return May 12

PHOENIXVIL­LE » The Relay for Life is returning to Phoenixvil­le Area High School on May 12 from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. The theme for this year’s Relay, which benefits the American Cancer Society, is “We Can Be Heroes,” reflecting the heroic efforts of those who struggle with cancer, and their caretakers.

This year’s Relay will feature fun for the entire family, including games and activities for kids. Musicians and bands, including Bryen O’Boyle and Harry Giovan of Mr. Greengenes will entertain throughout the day. Other acts performing on the main stage include AM Radio, Haywood Trout, Waning Crescent and a Kinks cover band.

Sign up for the Phoenixvil­le Relay for Life today! The Phoenixvil­le Relay team has several events planned leading up to the May 12 event. These include: • The Relay Hero Gala will happen on April 25. per survivor are welcome to enjoy dinner free of charge in the Covered at 610-983-1823. The dinner is sponsored by the Phoenixvil­le Hospital Cancer Center. This year, the center will recognize two patients who have persevered despite many obstacles while being treated. • A fund raiser at Petrucci’s on May 2 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a portion of all proceeds benefiting Relay. Luminaria bags that will be lit during a nighttime ceremony at the Relay will be sold during this benefit.
