PHOENIXVIL­LE » Phoenixvil­le Police responded to 181 calls for service, including 10 traffic accidents, between July 1 and July 8. The following is a summary of those incidents as reported by Phoenixvil­le Police:

• Police responded to 27 reports of fireworks between July 1 and July 8. Some resulted in fines, some resulted in warnings, and some were unfounded. No injuries were reported.

• On July 1 at 2:29 a.m., Cpl. Place noticed a man urinating on the facade of the Steel City Coffee House and issued the 21-yearold Phoenixvil­le resident a summons for disorderly conduct. The man left in an Uber with a group of friends.

• On July 1 at 3:23 a.m., officers arrested a wanted man on Main Street at Hall Street. Shawn McGoldrick age 42 of Phoenixvil­le had a bench warrant in Philadelph­ia and a packet of heroin in his pocket. McGoldrick was transferre­d to the city but will be returning to Chester County to face drug charges in the near future.

• On July 1 at 6:45 a.m., an ER nurse at Phoenixvil­le Hospital reported that she found some weed in a patient’s clothing after he was admitted for treatment. The 37-year-old Philadelph­ia resident will be charged with the drug violation when he is discharged.

• Police responded to the Phoenix Village apartments for the report of a group people pool hopping on the property on July at 10:35 p.m. Officers caught three men in their mid-20’s representi­ng Phoenixvil­le, Paoli and Norristown swimming in the private pool. The hoppers were charged with trespassin­g on the property.

• On July 1 at 11 p.m., a man known to locals as the riverside sculptor was picked up on an outstandin­g arrest warrant. The 29-year-old Phoenixvil­le man had a bench warrant and was sent to the county jail.

• On July 2 at 2:19 a.m., Cpl. Place issued a warning to three men playing basketball at the Reservoir Park courts after the park was closed for the night.

• A resident in the 800 block of Maple Avenue reported that there was a drunken man knocking on her back door on July 2 at 8 a.m. Officers arrived and arrested Brandon Gajewski for public drunkennes­s and learned that he was also a wanted man. Gajewski, 25, of Schuylkill Township was turned over to Montgomery County Sheriff’s deputies when he sobered up.

• On July 2 at 6:07 p.m., a 26-year-old Douglassvi­lle man reported that he was assaulted by another patron at Molly Maguire’s Pub the previous night. The man reported that he bumped into a man in his 50’s who was seated at the bar and the man told him to order his drink from another spot at the bar. When the victim didn’t move, the man choked him and both of them tumbled to the floor. Bouncers tossed both men out of the bar. Investigat­ors are reviewing video footage of the incident.

• On July 2 at 9:07 p.m., Upper Merion Police notified Phoenixvil­le Police that a 31-year-old wanted woman from Pottstown was in labor and was on her way to Phoenixvil­le Hospital in an ambulance coming from King of Prussia. Officer Dobry confirmed that she was delivering a baby at the hospital and gave her temporary amnesty on the Chester County bench warrant.

• Police responded to the 300 block of Bridge Street for a noise complaint on July 2 at 11:32 p.m. The horn on an unoccupied Buick was stuck and sounding continuous­ly and Officer Knapp could not locate the owner. The officer called a tow truck to remove the car. As the tow truck was leaving with the Buick, the owner of the car came out and was able to disconnect the horn. The Clifton Heights man refused to pay the tow fee so the tow truck driver took his car away. At 5:10 a.m. the owner of the Buick called the police and requested the phone number for the tow company so he could retrieve his car.

• On July 3 at 10:45 p.m., police responded to a home in the 500 block of Nutt Road for the report of a domestic dispute. A woman reported that her boyfriend was standing on the roof of her car and yelling at her through her second floor window. The 31-year-old boyfriend was still on the roof when officers arrived. He continued to yell at the girlfriend so he was issued a summons for disorderly conduct. He walked away disgusted.

• On July 4 at 9:25 p.m., police responded to the unit block of E. Walnut Street for the report of a naked man walking down the middle of the street. Officers located the naked man and he was drunk. The 65-yearold man lived nearby so he was taken home and released to his wife. He was issued a summons for public drunkennes­s.

• On July 5 at 4:26 p.m., Phoenixvil­le Hospital staff reported that the fugitive mother who delivered a baby on July 2 left the facility against medical advice. The wanted woman made her getaway before officers arrived.

• Police responded to the old Sears Hardware store for the report of a man passed out against the building with a rifle by his side on July 6 at 9:18 a.m. Sgt. Sutton responded and determined that the man had an umbrella with him and he was homeless. The officer provided the 48-year-old man with some resources to help him find a shelter.

• On July 6 at 7:27 p.m., Officer Dobry was on bike patrol on the Schuylkill River trail and discovered a make-shift campsite under the Veterans Memorial Bridge. Two men were drinking Four Loco malt liquor around a campfire. One of the men, Drew Batman, 34, of Pottstown, had a warrant for his arrest in Berks County. Batman was arrested and taken to the Berks County jail. His 21-year-old companion was issued a summons for the open container ordinance.

• On July 6 at 9:57 p.m., a 49-year-old man from Darnestown, Maryland was arrested for DUI after he drove his Nissan Maxima around a barricade on Prospect Street which was closed for First Friday events. Thomas Weaverling had an open bottle of Vodka on his passenger seat and failed a series of field sobriety tests.

• Police responded to the intersecti­on of Washington Avenue and Wheatland Street for the report of a man passed out on the sidewalk on July 6 at 10:30 p.m. The 58-year-old man was drunk and disoriente­d. He was checked out by EMS personnel and then released to his sister at the Prima Motel.

• On July 7 at 1 a.m., Officer Karpovich observed the driver of a white Jeep driving on the wrong side of the road on Route 23. The officer stopped the driver, a 51-year-old man from Glenmoore, PA, and he appeared to be under the influence. Richard Peterson failed a series of field sobriety tests and he was arrested for DUI.

• On July 7 at 1:33 a.m., Officer Fusco saw a man urinating on the side of a building on Bridge Street near Bank Street. The 23-year-old Blue Bell resident was issued a summons for disorderly conduct and sent on his way.

• On July 7 at 2:12 a.m., Officer Fusco spotted another man relieving himself in front of the Colonial Theatre. The 25-year-old man who was visiting from Burbank, California was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

• Officer Knapp watched a group of men ready themselves for a fist fight in the 100 block of Bridge Street on July 7 at 2:20 a.m. The officer approached and the group dispersed …except for two carousers who refused to leave. Officers grabbed one of the men and the other jumped to his defense and interfered with the arrest. Both men, ages 21 and 24 of Reading and Mont Clare, were arrested for public drunkennes­s and disorderly conduct and released when they were sober.

• On July 7 at 2:28 a.m., Officer Dobry saw a man drinking a bottle of Corona beer in the 100 block of Bridge Street. The 25-yearold Norristown man was issued a summons for the open container violation.

• On July 7 at 12:07 p.m., Cpl. MacDonald stopped the driver of a Subaru on Route 23 because the car had an expired inspection sticker. The Subaru reeked of marijuana and the driver surrendere­d a sandwich bag full of weed. The 19-year-old Spring City man was charged with the drug violation.

• Police responded to the Taylor Alley municipal parking lot and helped a senior citizen find his car on July 7 at 1:33 p.m.

• On July 7 at 10:22 p.m., an officer observed a man yelling obscenitie­s at fellow pedestrian­s in the downtown business district. The 40-year-old man from Berwyn, PA was arrested for public drunkennes­s and disorderly conduct and released to his parents at the police station.

• On July 8 at 1:26 a.m., Officer Fusco noticed a man peeing in a flower planter in the 200 block of Bridge Street. The Phoenixvil­le resident was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

• On July 8 at 2:07 a.m., Cpl. Gray observed a man staggering down the sidewalk and bumping into people in the 100 block of Bridge Street. The man ducked into a doorway and was relieving himself when the officer approached. The man saw the officer approachin­g and took off running midstream. Officers chased him down and arrested him for public drunkennes­s and disorderly conduct. The 21-year-old man from Trappe, PA was released to his girlfriend at the hospital.

• Police responded to the Holy Trinity Cemetery on Fillmore Street for an animal complaint on July 8 at 11:23 p.m. A whitetaile­d deer tried to jump a wrought iron fence and impaled itself on the spires of the fence. Officers were able to dislodge the deer and the game commission responded to remove the carcass.

• On July 8 at 3:41 p.m., police arrested a wanted man in the 600 block of Bridge Street. Kyle Branch, 32, of Norristown, had a warrant for his arrest held by the Lower Providence Township Police. Branch had some weed on him when he was arrested so he faces additional drug charges. He was turned over to Lower Providence Police at the police station.
