PHOENIXVIL­LE >> Phoenixvil­le Police responded to 164 calls for service including 11 traffic accidents between Dec. 21 and Dec. 30.

The following is a summary of notable incidents as reported by Phoenixvil­le Police on their Facebook page:

• On Dec. 21 at 10:47 a.m., police responded to an apartment in the 100 block of Bridge Street for the report of a disturbanc­e. Two brothers were arguing about financial problems and the fact that PECO recently turned their electric off. One of the brothers left and Code Enforcemen­t was notified that that the apartment was occupied but had no electricit­y.

• On Dec. 21 at 3:19 p.m., Officer Dobry located a homeless campsite along the Schuylkill River Trail. A 54-year-old Downingtow­n man was living under a giant American flag he adapted into a makeshift tent. The man told the officer he should be getting his housing assistance approved any day now and he agreed to take all his belongings with him when he leaves the property.

• On Dec. 21 at 7:15 p.m., police responded to the intersecti­on of Route 29 and Second Avenue for the report of a one car crash. The driver of a Honda Pilot, a 54-year-old Phoenixvil­le woman, fell asleep on her way home from work and drifted into the opposite lane and sheared a utility pole off at its base. The driver was taken to the hospital by Trappe Ambulance.

• On Dec. 22 at 9:15 p.m., police responded to a home in the 100 block of Jackson Street for the report of a disturbanc­e. The caller reported that his live-in girlfriend was drunk and she was throwing items around the house. Officers escorted the man outside to a waiting Uber and he went to a hotel for the night.

• On Dec. 23 at 2:42 a.m., police responded to an apartment building in the unit block of Main Street for the report of a breakin. The caller reported that a man just kicked in the common door to the apartment building and then proceeded to kick in the door to apartment #2. Officers arrived at apartment #2 and the man was inside covered in drywall dust and splintered wood. He admitted to breaking the doors down and explained that he was trying to get into a female acquaintan­ce’s apartment. Officers woke the woman up and she agreed to let him stay for the night and said she would pay for the repairs. The 25-year-old Hatfield man faces a criminal mischief charge.

• On Dec. 23 at 3:50 p.m., police responded to the King Terrace Apartments for the report of a man standing in front of the building screaming that he was Jesus of Nazareth. Officers located the man and he was obviously suffering from a mental health issue. He agreed to return to his apartment and take his prescribed medication­s.

• On Dec. 25 at 2:05 p.m., police responded to the bar at the Pickering Creek Inn for the report of a disturbanc­e. A 53-year-old Phoenixvil­le man reported that two meth users threatened him at the bar. The two men left before the police arrived and the caller could not recall the threatenin­g words that were directed toward him.

• On Dec. 27 at 6:39 p.m., police responded to the intersecti­on of Pennsylvan­ia Avenue and W. Bridge Street for a two car crash. The driver of a Toyota Corolla, a 37-year-old Phoenixvil­le woman, turned left in front of an Acura that had the right of way on W. Bridge Street. The Toyota driver was issued a ticket for the turning violation and the Acura driver, a 35-year-old Phoenixvil­le man, was issued a ticket for not having a driver’s license.

• On Dec. 28 at 11:35 a.m., police responded to the ER at Phoenixvil­le Hospital for the report of an unruly patient. The patient came into the ER for treatment and refused to relinquish his pocket knife to the hospital staff. Officer Ansaldo spoke to the man he agreed to turn the knife over while he was being treated.

• On Dec. 28 at 2:20 p.m., a Phoenixvil­le couple found a bank envelope containing a large sum of cash in the Giant grocery store parking lot and turned it into police. If you are the owner and can tell us the amount and identify the markings on the envelope, call the Detective Unit at 610-9331180 Ext. 816 to claim it.

• On Dec. 28 at 2:50 p.m., police escorted a property manager through the old slaughterh­ouse as he posted the building with no trespassin­g signs. Three squatters were located inside the dilapidate­d building and the men were notified that they were no longer allowed to stay there.

• On Dec. 28 at 7:46 p.m., police responded to the unit block of Christman Street for the report of a man begging people for money. Sgt. Gold located the 65-year-old man and gave him a couple bucks if he agreed to stop panhandlin­g. The man gladly accepted and left the area.

• On Dec. 29 at 3:58 p.m., police responded to the Phoenixvil­le Laundry Center on W. Bridge Street for a clothing conundrum. The caller reported that his clothes were stuck in a washing machine and he could not get the door open. The 45-year-old Phoenixvil­le man was able to free his clothes before the police arrived.

• On Dec. 29 at 7:55 p.m., police responded to the unit block of Main Street to check on the welfare of a man who fell over while trying to ride a motorcycle. The caller reported that the man looked like he was drunk. The motorcycli­st must have regained his balance because he took off on the bike before the police arrived and officers were unable to locate him.

• On Dec. 29 at 9:44 p.m., police responded to the 200 block of Bridge Street for the report of a drunken man staggering across the street. Officers arrived and saw the man stumble into Molly Maguire’s Pub. They followed him into the bar and informed the man that he needed to find a ride home. Justin Gilbert, 30, of Schwenksvi­lle, refused to leave the pub so the officers escorted him outside. When they got to the doorway, Gilbert fell to his knees and played possum on the sidewalk so he was arrested for public drunkennes­s. Later on, he peed on the floor of his cell and damaged the cell block so he was charged criminally. Gilbert was sent directly to the county jail.

• On Dec. 30 at 2:12 a.m., Officer Fusco was patrolling near the intersecti­on of Main Street and Bridge Street and heard tires squealing. The officer watched the driver of a VW Jetta rear-end the driver of a Pontiac Torrent twice. As the Pontiac moved forward following the impact, the Jetta driver hit it a second time. A 34-year-old Gilbertsvi­lle woman was driving the Jetta and was extremely intoxicate­d. She will be charged with DUI.

• On Dec. 20 at 4:30 p.m., police responded to the intersecti­on of First Avenue and B Street for the report of a disturbanc­e. A couple reported that the driver of a pick-up truck sped past them as they were walking on First Avenue and they motioned for him to slow it down. The driver locked up his brakes, reversed his truck, and jumped out and got in their face. He challenged the husband to a fist fight and then made sexually explicit comments to the wife before hopping back in his truck and taking off. While he was carrying on, the couple snapped a few pics of his face and tag number which made it really easy to identify him. The 57-year-old Chester Springs man was issued a summons for disorderly conduct.
