A wonderful combination of all good things in the world. I am so proud and honored to call Sue Stein my friend.

On the home front she has 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. As well as her partner of 35years – Joe Hood. She graduated from the Celebrant Foundation & Institute and was ordained by Universal Brotherhood Movement in 2012. She offers Four Directions Ceremonies which is uniquely personalized. She performs her services in Pennsylvania, New York, Delaware and Maryland.

She and Joe tool around on Joe’s motorcycle. They are both very connected to the Native American cultures - as well as all indigenous people. On weekends they often attend Pow Wows and other gatherings.

As her mother Pauline Stein was a noted area artist – the world of art is very important to Sue. She has most of her mom’s unsold works in her house. But there is only so much wall space.

I am pleased to mention that Sue gave me one of Pauline’s works – a Philadelphia street scene focusing on City Hall. The picture is the most recent image in what I call my “local artist corner”. It features artists I know and some kind of image of their talent.

Ancestry – especially her ancestry is a big part of what makes Sue tick. Her family roots trace back to Jewish Romania and Poland on her mother’s side with her dad’s roots in Odessa and Kiev in Ukraine.

Along with her cooking at home – she is always trying new and interesting places and events to broaden her knowledge. Sue is a true spiritual seeker of what the earth offers.

Here is her recipe for an Indian Chokecherry Pudding It can be made from most berries – such as cherries or blueberries.
