Books on Tap: Phoenixville Public Library’s book discussion group for adults in their 20s and 30s, will meet next on Tuesday, August 27, 7:00 PM at The Foodery, 325 Bridge Street, Phoenixville. The group will discuss Erin Morgenstern’s The Night Circus. The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simple there. Interested in baseball? : Phoenixville Public Library will host a free presentation“WAR: What Is It Good For? Are Current Baseball Stats Ruining the Game?” on Thursday, September 5 at 7:00 PM. Dave Costello will be the speaker. His lecture will touch on how baseball stats have evolved over the years and whether the current abundance of statistical measures is changing the game in too radical of a way. Dave Costello is a father of four sons and a lifelong Phillies fan. He has two Masters Degrees, an MBA and an MA in English Literature. He currently teaches at Jefferson University and Immaculata University. He loves everything and anything about baseball and Star Wars. This event is free and open to the public.
