Chester County Legacy award winners to be announced Oct. 28

-

Chester County Community Foundation will hold its Legacy Awards Celebration and 25th Anniversary annual meeting on Monday, Oct. 28.

The meeting is open to all community members and will provide an overview of the Community Foundation’s Inspire, Celebrate, Grow campaign, introduce the 2019 Legacy Award winner and focus on Growing Beyond 25 Years.

For 25 years, the Community Foundation has focused on growing longterm legacy philanthropy, so that charitable assets are available to help nonprofits thrive in challenging as well as prosperous economic times. Over the last year, the Foundation focused on a strategic campaign to grow philanthropy.

The meeting will feature the April TED Talk Series and showcase some sweet memories from the Uptown New Year’s Eve Celebration, Silver Sweet Charity, and the 25th Anniversary Party at Abbott Barn.

The Foundation is also proud to highlight its growth over the last year, which builds its portfolio to include 400-plus endowed funds to benefit the Chester County region for perpetuity. Lastly, CCCF will debut two 25th Anniversary Videos, celebrating the past and looking ahead to future achievements.

The Community Foundation will spotlight Patrick C. O’Donnell, Esq., as this year’s Door Opener, as a result of estate planning work undertaken with Nancy Lynn Petersen. Patrick’s good friend and client Nancy left her mark on each community where she lived, actively embodying the true spirit of informed, compassionate civic engagement. Upon Nancy’s passing in 2017, her estate attorney Patrick recommended that Nancy’s estate gift be earmarked to the Grantmaking Fund for Chester County, so that the Community Foundation can make grants to honor Petersen’s civic engagement and environmental concerns for perpetuity.

The Chester County Community Foundation encourages the members of the Chester County community to attend its annual meeting and awards ceremony. The meeting will be held on Monday, Oct. 28, at the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center, 226 North High Street, West Chester, PA 19380. The program is free and will begin at 5 p.m. with a reception immediately before at 4:15 p.m. and after at 6:15 p.m. RSVP is requested, call (610)-696-8211 or via email at events@chescocf.org.
