Local victim advocacy awards to be presented at annual gala
WEST CHESTER >> The Crime Victims’ Center of Chester County welcomes over 200 guests again this year at the 2019 Night of Hope Gala on Nov. 1.
The gala will transport guests to old Hollywood with red carpet glamour, a popular silent auction, raffles and professional performances.
CVC will be awarding two annual awards during the program. The John J. Crane Child Victims Advocacy Award will be presented to Erin O’Brien, Chester County Assistant District Attorney, and Jerry Davis, Chester County Detective, for their work on behalf of child victims of violence. The Peggy Gusz Victims Advocacy Legacy Award will be presented to Damaris Pagan, recognizing her work with the Maternal and Child Health Consortium and its impact on the well-being of crime victims.
“We had a remarkable field of nominations for this year’s awards,” shares Christine Zaccarelli, CEO of the organization. “Victims are best served when nonprofits, county agencies, law enforcement and the justice system work hand in hand. The tireless efforts made daily by our awardees illustrate how collaboration can truly put victims first and improve their outcomes.”
CVC has been in existence for more than four decades and they support local families impacted by crimes like child abuse, sexual assault, homicide, drunk driving, and other crimes. The Annual Night of Hope is an opportunity for all of CVC’s supporters, friends, family, and community members to come together and celebrate the agency’s accomplishments and hard work each year.
Many familiar elements of this popular annual event will remain, including an inviting array of silent auction items highlighting area attractions, experiences and businesses. Electronic bidding – in partnership with the Phoenixville Jaycees – will allow supporters to preview and bid on items online, as well as during the event. Delicious food from John Serock Catering, an open bar and surprise live performances will add to the excitement and enjoyment of the evening. To purchase tickets to this year’s event, please visit https://www.cvcofcc.org/ gala. Tickets are $75 per person or $560/ table of eight. This event sold out last year so guests are encouraged to purchase their tickets as soon as possible due to limited seating.
