Phoenixvil­le Police respond to 169 calls over 10 days

PHOENIXVIL­LE >> Phoenixvil­le Police responded to 169 calls for service, including 18 traffic accidents, from Jan. 13 to Jan. 23.

The following is a summary of notable incidents as reported by police on their Facebook page:

• On Jan. 13 at 2:30 a.m., police responded to the Prima Lounge for the report of a strong arm robbery in the parking lot. The victim reported that he was robbed of his wallet and cell phone by an individual who is staying at the motel. Officers reviewed video footage and confirmed the victim’s version of events. Kemal Cox II, 27, of Norristown, was located inside a motel room with the victim’s phone and wallet and he was arrested for the robbery. Cox also had a pocket full of cocaine and a Chester County bench warrant for his arrest- he was sent directly to jail.

• On Jan. 13 at 7:47 a.m., officers responded to a home in the 200 block of Morgan Street for the report of a domestic dispute. The caller reported that her boyfriend yanked her out of the bathroom while she was doing her makeup. The boyfriend said she was taking too long and he couldn’t wait any longer to use the toilet. Both agreed they should practice better bathroom etiquette.

• On Jan. 15 at 10:03 a.m., police responded to Phoenixvil­le Hospital for the report of an indecent visitor. The caller reported that an acquaintan­ce came to visit her in the ER while she was sleeping in the exam room. She woke up while he was in her room and he was peeking under her hospital gown. The 53-year-old man took off when she started yelling at him. Officer Fusco obtained a warrant for the man’s arrest.

• On Jan. 15 at 8:23 p.m., West Chester Police arrested a man on a county bench warrant and discovered that he was also wanted in Phoenixvil­le on assault charges related to an incident earlier that day. Marcel Lecates, 21, of West Chester, allegedly attacked his girlfriend while visiting her home in Phoenixvil­le.

• On Jan. 16 at 4:16 p.m., a Royersford Police officer arrested a fugitive from Phoenixvil­le. Matthew Keiter, 56 of Royersford, was wanted on charges related to providing a false ID to police the day after Christmas- he gave the officer his brother’s name.

• On Jan. 16 10:22 p.m., police responded to a homeless shelter on Church Street and arrested the voyeur from the earlier incident at the ER. Andrew Taylor was taken directly to the county jail.

• On Jan. 17 at 9:20 p.m., Officer Dobry noticed a man passed out in a storm gutter on N. Main Street near Mill Street. The 24-year-old King of Prussia man was taken to Phoenixvil­le Hospital by ambulance for an alcohol overdose and he was issued a summons for public drunkennes­s.

• On Jan. 18 at 2:04 a.m., police responded to the 1000 block of Northridge Court for the report of a disturbanc­e. The caller reported that his girlfriend showed up at his house drunk and began arguing with his mother. The 39-year-old woman was carrying on in the street when the officers arrived so she was arrested for public drunkennes­s and released when she was sober.

• On Jan. 18 at 2:19 a.m., a 30-year-old Schuylkill Township woman was admitted to Phoenixvil­le Hospital and forgot that she had some meth in her pocket. The nurses found the drugs and contacted the police. The woman will face drug possession charges when she’s released from the hospital.

• On Jan. 20 at 8:48 p.m., police responded to a residence on Center Street for the report of a suspicious condition. The caller reported that there were strange noises coming from his neighbor’s apartment. An officer checked the apartment and learned that the neighbor was suffering from unpleasant gastrointe­stinal issues.

• On Jan. 20 at 9:11 p.m., police arrested a wanted man inside a local shelter. John Bracken, age 60, of Berwyn, was picked up on a warrant related to a previous drug possession incident and he was sent directly to the county jail.

• On Jan. 20 at 10:31 p.m., police responded to the Bluebird Distillery for the report of a disturbanc­e involving a customer. An employee reported that she called a Lyft for the patron but the driver refused to transport the man because he was wearing the contents of his stomach on his shirt. Officer Bryan gave the 30-year-old Harrisburg man an opportunit­y to call for alternate transporta­tion but the man decided he wanted to walk home. He was arrested for public drunkennes­s and released when he was sober.

• On Jan. 22 at 12:47 a.m., police responded to the unit block of N. Main Street for the report of a disabled motorist. The driver of a Kia ran out of gas so his car was towed to the Sunoco station on Route 23 where he was able to top off.

• On Jan. 22 at 12:17 p.m., a Newark, DE man reported his 83-year-old mother missing and he believed she was in Phoenixvil­lelost somewhere between Maryland and Delaware. An interstate Silver Alert was generated and the woman was found driving in New Jersey a short time later.

• On Jan. 22 at 1:23 p.m., police responded to a bank on Main Street for the report of a suspicious condition. A 95-year-old Phoenixvil­le man was trying to wire transfer $1000 to a stranger named John so he could receive $5 million in return. An officer explained that he was the victim of a scam. Remember folks- if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

• On Jan. 22 at 3:25 p.m., an Upper Providence (Delco) Police officer arrested a fugitive who was wanted in Phoenixvil­le. Craig Gamber, 28 of Media, had a warrant for his arrest related to a previous domestic dispute in October. Gamber allegedly assaulted a woman while they were walking home together dressed as leprechaun­s.

• On Jan. 23 at 11:10 a.m., an 18-year-old Phoenixvil­le woman was arrested for domestic assault after she attacked her boyfriend inside a home in the 700 block of Wheatland Street.
