Phoenixville Public Library will host a free online program on “Sustainable Investing” on Monday, May 11 at 7:00 PM. Ethan Quirin, CEO of Financial Dogma, and Courtney Quirin, a filmmaker, will be the presenters. The program will begin with a showing of Courtney’s 25-minute documentary, “The Georgia Girl,” which follows a father-son salmon fishing trip out of Vancouver, British Columbia, to tell a tale about the decline of small-scale commercial fishing. Duncan Cameron, 26, is one of the few young fishermen left as small-scale fishing crumbles under the thumb of large corporations and poor regulation and enforcement. Unwilling to compromise his livelihood, which goes back five generations, Duncan decides to bypass the traditional route of selling to large seafood corporations in order to instill transparency into a broken food system. Please note that while this film is not officially rated, it contains some R-rated language.
