Downtown open-air permit set-up returning April 16

The borough council has approved the popular open-air permit setups to return in 2021. The set-ups will begin on Friday, April 16, and will run every weekend until Nov. 29.

Borough council and staff put out a survey to businesses and the public to gauge interest in the return of these set-ups in 2021. After more than 600 responses were received, the council was able to make an informed decision with the feedback from the survey responses.

“We want to thank our business owners and community members for taking our online survey because of your responses we are confident in going forward with resuming the openair set-ups this year,” said Borough Manager E. Jean Krack.

“We as borough council are excited to bring back these set-ups as additional opportunit­ies for our community to support its local economy and keep Phoenixvil­le thriving,” said Borough Council President Jonathan M. Ewald.

Starting Friday, April 16, the schedule of open-air setup hours of operation will be:

• Fridays– 4 pm – 10 pm

• Saturdays – 7 am – 10 pm

• Sundays – 7 am – 10 pm The road closure times are as follows: Fridays at 2 p.m. to Mondays at 7 a.m., unless otherwise noted, and the closure roads will be Bridge Street from Starr Street to Main Street and

Bridge Street from Main Street to Gay Street.
