Candidates on the Republican line appear to have won all four open seats on the Perkiomen Valley School Board in Tuesday’s election.

According to unofficial results as of 4 p.m. Wednesday, the top votegetter was Don Fountain, with 4,840, followed by Rowan Keenan with 4,837, Jason Saylor with 4,828, and Jason Christopher Shoemaker Geddes at 4,618.

The four Democrats won, in descending order, 3,702 votes for Tammy Campli; 3,689 votes for Michelle Smith; 3,656 votes for Michelle Keating-Sibel and 3,510 votes for Edward McGuire and .

However, these results could change as a result of the fact that Montgomery County announced Wednesday afternoon that 20,000 mail-in votes county-wide remain uncounted.

“Due to several factors, final results are expected to be delayed. First, the county is sequestering the returned ballots related to the previously announced misprint of mail-in ballots by its printer. Affected ballots are subject to a separate verification process that was approved by the Montgomery County Board of Elections and shared with both political parties as well as the Pennsylvania Department of State,” according to the post.

“Second, the county encountered a higher than usual number of ballots that cannot be read by the ballot scanners. The county is following an established process for bi-partisan teams to re-create the impacted ballots to make sure every eligible vote is validated and counted,” according to the post. “This process occurs during every election as there are various reasons ballots are sometimes unable to be scanned. The county estimates that approximately 23,000 ballots are affected by these two issues.”
