Public test of voting machines successful

Voting registrati­on for General Election ends Oct. 5

MARSHALL COUNTY — The Marshall County Election Board conducted the public test on voting machines Wednesday. The test was successful.

Voter registrati­on ends on Monday, Oct. 5. Tuesday, Oct. 6 is the first day of absentee voting in the Marshall County Clerk’s Office. Saturday, Sept.

19, absentee ballots will go out for all approved applicatio­ns. Marshall County Voter Registrati­on Deputy Melinda Keilman reported 511 online requests and 858 requests by mail came for voting by mail absentee as of Wednesday morning.

Thursday, Oct. 22 is the deadline for the circuit court clerk to receive an absentee ballot applicatio­n from an applicant requesting delivery of a ballot by mail. applicatio­ns must be submitted to the clerk in person, by mail, fax, or email by 11:59 p.m. that Thursday. anyone mailing a request should mail their request as soon as possible to accommodat­e delivery by the United States Post Office. Mail in absentee ballots must be received at the clerk’s office by 12 p.m. (noon) Monday, Nov. 2.

Early voting opportunit­ies sat the Marshall County Clerk’s Office start Tuesday, Oct. 6 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Clerk’s Office will also be open for Monday, Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon) the day before the election.

Saturday, Oct. 24 and Saturday, Oct. 31 there will be early satellite voting at the Bremen Town

Hall, Culver Administra­tion Building and the Marshall County Clerk’s Office from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The Bremen Town Hall is located at 104 W. Plymouth St., Bremen. The Culver Adminstrat­ion Building is located at 700 School St., Culver. The Marshall County Clerk’s Office is located at 211 West Madison St., Plymouth.

Absentee voting by Travel Board begins Thursday, Oct. 15 to Nov. 2 (12 p.m.) by appointmen­t.

Poll worker training is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 27 at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
