Guest Speaker at First UMC

PLYMOUTH — Rev. Mike Dixon is guest speaker at the First United Methodist Church this Sunday. Keep Praying, my friends, to end this covid19 pandemic as we are still working to help people stay connected, safe and faithful. Remember our Sunday’s service live streams on Facebook at 10:30 am and “The Well” at 5 p.m. each week. If you don’t have “Facebook”, they are also available on Youtube starting Monday mornings. Please join us and tell your friends!

Brian Liechty, Chair of Board of Trustees will give an update on the sanctuary progress.

May God Bless You and May God Bless America! Pianist Kay Finlay will be playing “Come, Sound His Praise Abroad” for the prelude and “Old Friends” for the Anthem.

Rev. Mike Dixon’s message is titled: “Am I A Real Christian?”. “Do you consider yourself a Christian? The term “Christian” is used more today than any other term to describe a believer, a follower of Jesus Christ. People talk about the Christian church and the Christian faith. There is a debate always raging as to whether or not we are a Christian Nation. I believe the average person on the street has no real clue what a real Christian really is. Many who profess to be Christians really are not Christians at all and many who use the term don’t even really understand what they mean by it. The word “Christian” is used only 3 times in the Bible. Yet, I believe these three occurrences are crucial because they tell us what a real Christian is.”

Congregational Benediction “Go Now in Peace” sing it loud and strong at home - - like you are a member of the Chancel Choir - - O o o o h that sounds so nice. You’ve got a good voice - you could be in the choir ya’ know.

AS WE CLOSE THIS TIME TOGETHER, remember: God is always with you and we’re here as a church family. No matter what you face, no matter what trials or hardships come your way, God is right beside you, raising your very life from death, guiding and directing your path. So, acknowledge your fear and your worry and know it is as true and holy as any feeling, including joy and hope and love. Take heart, my friends! This is the heart of the matter. Let the people say, Amen!
