Women’s Trio to sing at First UMC

PLYMOUTH — The First United Methodist Church Women’s Trio “Julie Boys, Mary Kaufman and Kathy Mills will be singing this Sunday for the Anthem. Keep Praying, my friends, to end this covid-19 pandemic as we are still working to help people stay connected, safe and faithful.

Remember our Sunday’s service live streams on Facebook at 10:30 a.m. and “The Well” at 5 pm each week. If you don’t have “Facebook”, they are also available on Youtube starting Monday mornings. Please join us and tell your friends! May God Bless You and May God Bless America!

SPECIAL MUSIC: The First United Methodist Church Women’s Trio will be singing “On Eagles’ Wings” for the Anthem and pianist Kay Finlay will be playing “Blessed Assurance” for the Prelude.

Pastor Toni’s message is titled: “Thunder and Lightning and the Word of God”. “Sunday morning’s scripture comes from Exodus 20:1-4, 7-9, 12-20 . As we read the Ten Commandments given to God’s people in the wilderness, we might focus in this modern era on the “Do not’s.” We think speaking in positive terms is the best way to communicate to others! We may chafe at being given boundaries within which we--reasonable people--are told to behave. I wonder, d o we think of behavioral boundaries as limits to our freedom? Or might we consider them as a means of living freely and fully within the context of an intentional and caring community? Being in relationship and living with others means we respect and care for one another. Loving God, loving others and serving others is our mission statement and is reflective of the purpose of God’s commands.

Following them gives glory to God.”

SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION - - All are welcome at Christ’s table to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion. As we participate in this sacrament “together in our homes”, we are reminded that Christ is with us wherever we are, and that his Body enlivens us in love and service. Lord’s Prayer will be sung following the taking of the elements.

Congregational Benediction “Go Now in Peace” sing it loud and strong at home - - like you are a member of the Chancel Choir - - O o o o h that sounds so nice. You’ve got a good voice - you could be in the choir ya’ know.

AS WE CLOSE THIS TIME TOGETHER, remember: God is always with you and we’re here as a church family. No matter what you face, no matter what trials or hardships come your way, God is right beside you, raising your very life from death, guiding and directing your path. So, acknowledge your fear and your worry and know it is as true and holy as any feeling, including joy and hope and love. Take heart, my friends! This is the heart of the matter. Let all God’s people say, Amen!
