Three generations volunteer at the Marshall County Neighborhood Center
Marshall County Neighborhood Center is more than community, it’s family. Marshall County Building Commissioner Chuck Dewitt helped install a new door at the Center with his son Mitch and grandson
Gavin Saturday.
alescha Dewitt, Chuck’s wife, also works at the center. Gavin and Mitch also volunteer their time almost every Wednesday helping with the food pantry.
Gavin is in 7th grade at Lincoln Junior High. He
The Food Bank of Northern Indiana will be hosting another Mobile Food Distribution on Friday, Oct. 16 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. (noon). As stated in their infographic:
Fresh perishable items and dry goods are offered free of charge. All items will be preboxed and pre-bagged. First come, first served for up to 400 households while supplies last for those in need of food assistance. One box per household.
This will be a drive through distribution. Please remain in your vehicle and pop open your trunk to receive your items. An area will be available for you to load your items if your trunk does not open. enjoys spending time with his dad while helping those in need. His favorite part about volunteering at the center? “The snack afterwards!” Gavin answered with a huge smile.

Even though Hunger Action Month is over, hunger doesn’t cease the other 11 months of the year. The Marshall County Neighborhood Center always appreciates donations.
