Plymouth BPWS ratify HR Manager executive order
It was a short meeting of the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety (BPWS). The board met on Monday and involved several items.
City attorney Sean Surrisi presented Executive Order 2020-21, an executive order that creates the Human Resources Manager position.
“as it set out in the order, the timing of things, and with the transition between my office and the Clerk- Treasurer ’ s office it made sense to go ahead and get things started in advance of all the approvals that would be necessary that we already talked about,” Surrisi said.
The job description for the position wasn’t on the agenda for the approval of the board. Surrisi said that there was no hurry on that, and that it was the same one that was provided to the board prior to this meeting. at the next meeting, the job description will be formally presented to the board for approval.
The board unanimously approved the ratification of the executive order.
Bu i ld ing Commissioner Keith Hammonds informed the board that his department is moving forward with the bids for the demolition of 418 West Garro Street.
“Good news. It needs to go,” Mayor Mark Senter said.
Mayor Senter then went on to acknowledge Plymouth Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt for being awarded with the 2020 Ivan H. Brinegar Municipal Management award during the annual accelerate Indiana Municipalities (AIM) Ideas Summit.

Marquardt thanked the mayor. “as much as it’s good for me, I think it’s great for the city because everyone does such a great
job. It gets us more on the map.”
City Engineer Rick Gaul presented two items for the board’s consideration. The first is a request from Comcast to work in the right-of-way at 2631 Jim Neu Drive. The second one is a request from Choicelight to work in the right-of-way at 2111 Jim Neu Drive.
Both requests were approved.
