• Come today at 10:30 a.m. to learn the art of Needle-felting with Susan, owner of the new Blueberry Cottage Yarns and Wool Shop. This is a beginner’s class where you will have a choice of fall-themed shapes to make into a pin (for wear or adornment). • Parents with a child or loved one addicted to drugs and/or alcohol can find hope in Parents of Addicted Loved-ones (PAL). The founding principle of PAL is People helping people through the woods. We meet each Wednesday at 7 p.m. to educate, support, and help each other with issues arising from loving someone with an addiction.pal Groups are facilitate­d by a peer, someone walking the same path as you. While the focus is on parents with an addicted child, all family members and friends are welcome to attend PAL meetings.

• Hope for Hurting Hearts is a one day grief retreat that will be held at Parkside Community Church in Argos located at 225 S. Michigan St. The event was designed to focus on healing from the loss of a loved one from a faith based perspectiv­e. The deadline to register is Oct. 24. The registrati­on fee is $25 to cover the cost of lunch and supplies. Arrival time is 8:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. The program begins at 9 a.m. and will conclude at 3 p.m. The event includes speakers, grief exercises, and small group interactio­n. •Nutrition and physical activity are keys to managing your type 2 diabetes. But where do you start? The Dining with Diabetes program can help! Dining with Diabetes consists of four sessions (Nov. 10, 17, 24 & Dec. 1) and a reunion. Adults with type 2 diabetes (or who are at risk) are invited to participat­e. Family members, caregivers, and support persons too. $25 per person/couple, includes notebook, demos and recipes. Reservatio­ns are required.
