Anna M. Bruski

Anna M. (Zehner) Bruski (84) passed away peacefully in her Wheatfield, NY residence on Dec. 4, surrounded by her children following a brief, non-COVID, illness.

Born May 24,1936 in Plymouth, she was the youngest child of the late Harold and Frances (Roberts) Zehner.

Ann was married to her loving husband, Frederick J.

Bruski, in 1955. He proceeded her in death on Aug. 31,1996.

Ann was a dedicated wife to Fred and loving mother to their five children. In her spare time, she enjoyed Hospital Guild work, Lockport Town & Country Club golf, Red Hats, Dale Associatio­n activities, two non-academic sororities, along with garden and investment clubs.

Later in life, her passion for history and genealogy took much of her free time. Ann was a long-time member and volunteer for the Niagara and Orleans County Genealogic­al Societies, The Niagara County Historical Society and the Town of Lockport Historical Society. Her Zehner lineage traces back to 1746 and the still immaculate original burial sites at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, Pa., which she visited on several occasions. Ann was a skilled researcher and assisted people from many states with WNY ties. She was a proud member of the Daughters of The American Revolution local chapter and briefly held a DAR state office. Ann read several newspapers and was known to share the Daily Chuckle with friends around her Elderwood at Wheatfield dining table. She was also a proud collector of Polish Pottery pieces and all things related to owls.

Ann was a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Lockport. She greatly enjoyed her new friends and lovely two years residing with the Elderwood Community in Wheatfield.

Ann was predecease­d by her husband, Fred J. Bruski; her son, Stephen J. Bruski, her daughter, Mary F. Bruski; her granddaugh­ter, Caitlin R. Bruski; brothers Oscar Zehner and Arthur Zehner; and sister, Luella Moyer.

Ann is survived by her children: Paul J. Bruski of Holland, NY; John F. (Ruth) Bruski of Littleton, Colo.; and Patricia A. (Gregory) Schaffer of Whitehouse, Ohio; and daughter-in-law, Lizbeth Pease of Walkerton. Grandchild­ren include: Shawna (Jonathan) Pressley, Sanborn, N.Y.; Brian Bruski, Burbank, Calif.; Savanna Bruski D.O., Indianapol­is,; Alex Bruski, Fountain Valley, Calif.; Mark Bruski, Rural Hall, N.C.; Kelly Schaffer JCL, Toledo, Ohio; Paul Schaffer and Kevin Schaffer of Whitehouse, Ohio; two great-grandsons, Levi and Jaxson Pressley; along with in-laws: Jean Zehner, Shirley Nall, Arlene (Richard) Roth, David (Doris) Bruski, James Bruski; and many nieces and nephews.
