Shop small

The Collective at 120 South Main

- By Jamie Fleury Staff Writer

CULVER — as the holidays approach, small shops are thankful for customers who shop small. Co-owner of The Collective at 120 South Main, Danielle Mavrick, was happy with the response she received during Culver’s annual Holiday Hop Saturday.

The collective is home to a variety of shops and vendors under one roof. The Collective offers an opportunity to small business owners to promote their wares in a section of the building for a fee. Several of those vendors might not otherwise be able to afford store front exposure on Main St. in Culver.

Unique gift items include socks, home decor, original artwork, toys, books, and novelty items. Gifts ranging in style from comical to elegant can be found at the collective; many starting at less than $10.

They offer free delivery for qualifying orders, curbside pickup, and $5 shipping options for orders of $75 or more.

The Culver Community Girls’ Basketball Team will be providing gift wrapping on location at The Collective Sunday, Dec. 13 from

10 a. m. to 3 p. m., Saturday, Dec. 19 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 20 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The shop is also one of several in downtown Culver that will be participating this Saturday for a supply drive to benefit the Marshall County Humane Society. More information about that event can

be obtained by emailing cafemaxinculver@ gmail.com or viewing the event listing “Mutt Strut on Main” on the Cafe Max Facebook page.

The Collective is located at 120 S. Main St. in Culver. Hours of operation are Monday through. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. They are open Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
