Plymouth holds end of year meetings
The Plymouth Common Council and the Board of Public Works and Safety met for its final meetings of 2020 on Monday.
The common council started things with a resolution providing for the transfers of appropriations in the Motor Vehicle Highway Fund. Clerk-Treasurer Jeanine Xaver explained that Street Superintendent Jim Marquardt would like to transfer funds from the Personnel section to Other Services and Charges section of his budget.
“It would be for the repair of a bucket truck after we got our yearly safety check on it. With the recommended materials to fix, it was above what I had left in my budget,” said Marquardt.
The council approved the request. The council also approved a request from Xaver to make year-end transfers as necessary.
There was another request to carry over outstanding purchases from 2020 to 2021. That was approved as well by the council.
Resolution 2020936, a resolution providing for the transfer of funds to the Rainy Day Fund was presented to the council. The amount in question was $ 750,000. Those funds would be transferred from
the General Fund to the Rainy Day Fund. That resolution was passed.
The Board of Public Works and Safety opened 2021 Fuel bids. There was only one bidder from Ceres Solutions. The board approved the bid and Marquardt will work with the business to get figures set.
City Engineer Rick Gaul presented UT-20035, a request from Maplenet to work in the right-of-way on Pioneer Drive for fiber build. He said there would be a $5,000 financial guarantee. The work would go down Pioneer Drive toward the County Jail. The request was approved by the board.
Gaul presented UT-19-011, a project from Comcast. At an earlier meeting, the board had passed a motion to have a recently installed cable replaced after it was not installed in the proposed side of the road. Gaul stated that Comcast would like this issue tabled because the company had questions concerning it. The board approved a motion to table the matter.
