A New Year begins at First UMC

PLYMOUTH — Remember our Sunday’s service live streams on Facebook at 10:30 am and “The Well” at 5 pm each week. If you don’t have “Facebook”, they are also available on Youtube starting Monday mornings. Please join us and tell your friends! Keep Praying, my friends, to end this covid-19 pandemic as we are still working to help people stay connected, safe and faithful. May God Bless You and May God Bless America!

SPECIAL MUSIC: Kay Finlay will be playing “O Little Town of Bethlehem” for the prelude and “Star Medley” for the anthem.

Pastor Toni’s message is titled: “A Different Road.”

SACRAMENT OF HOLY COMMUNION - - All are welcome at Christ’s table to receive the sacrament of Holy Communion. A Suggestion: to take communion while we’re on line - - take a cracker or a slice of bread and some grape juice and follow Pastor Toni’s guidance during the sacrament.

I know you like to sing - - so o o o sing the hymns and Congregational Benediction “Go Now in Peace” loud and clear. You’ll feel better.

In this season of waiting know this: We wait for justice but we do not wait to work for change; We wait for restored health but we do not wait to work to heal; We wait for wholeness but we do not wait to work at binding brokenness; We wait for peace but we do not wait to work to eliminate hatred. And so, my friends, like bells ringing out the news that the light has dawned and shines on all people, fill the night left by sadness with messages of peace. Go into your lives humming the tunes that keep that peace alive in you and that spur you on in your work of justice and reconciliation. Raise your voices and repeat after me… “do not be afraid!” “do not be afraid!” Amen!
