Plymouth drops two

OSSIAN - The Plymouth High School girls varsity basketball team participat­ed in the Norwell Shootout Saturday. The Lady Pilgrims lost to the host school in the morning game, 47-30. Taylor Delp led PHS in scoring with 15 points and Lindsay Janus added five.

In the consolatio­n game, Huntington North eked

out a 26-25 victory over the Lady Pilgrims. With Plymouth holding a 25-23 lead, Huntington North hit a corner 3 with one second left to win the game. Tallulah Gault led the team with seven points and Janus chipped in five.

Next up for PHS is an away clash with Warsaw Tuesday. JV will tip at 6 p.m. with the varsity to follow.

C. Noble tops Bremen

ALBION - The Bremen HS girls basketball team fell to Central Noble 54-39. With this loss, Bremen moves to 5-6 on the season. Leading the way for the Lady Lions was Ellia Foster with 19 points and Katie Moyer with 12.

CULVER - Winamac’s slim first half lead was enough to hold off a Culver comeback attempt, defeating the Lady Cavaliers, 42- 35. Maddie Shedrow (14) and Baleigh Binkley ( 12) were double digit scorers for Culver. Kenzie Banks and Alina Pizur each grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the Cavs in that category.

O-D splits at tourney Winamac holds off Cavs

GOSHEN - OregonDavi­s split a pair of games as it was a late addition to the Goshen Holiday Tournament Saturday.

In the opener, Maddie Hudspeth scored 34 points and Mercedes Rhodes added 21 as the Lady Bobcats defeated Gary Lighthouse, 93- 54. Mckenna Chessor added 19 and Kylee Saylor chipped in nine.

Hudspeth ( 24) and Rhodes (14) were the only two players to score for O-D in its 50-38 loss to Goshen in the championsh­ip game. Brynn ShoupHill scored 31 for the Lady Redhawks.

Lady Falcons wallop Riley

SOUTH BEND - The John Glenn girls basketball team started the New Year off with a convincing win over South Bend Riley, 64-25. The Lady Falcons were led in scoring by Seja Lang with 17 points, Jess Yelaska had 13, Sophia Romer added 12, Lauren Fansler seven and Kennedy Hayden chipped in six.

HS gymnastics Lady Pilgrims place 5th

ELKHART - The Plymouth High School gymnastics team competed at the Elkhart Holiday Invite on Saturday. The meet was hosted by Elkhart High School and held at the Club for Gymnastics. No spectators were allowed due to space limitation­s at the venue.

Plymouth placed 5th with a score of 80.95. Dorothy Karris was 8th in the All-around and Tessa Hutchinson was 9th. Plymouth’s next meet will be the Valparaiso HS Pairs Invitation­al on Saturday, Jan. 9.
