Commissioners appoint 2021 Department Heads
Marshall County Building Commissioner appointment not renewed
The Marshall County Commissioners met for their first meeting in 2021. They approved that Kevin Overmyer would remain President of the board, Stan Klotz would remain Vice President, along with member Michael burroughs.
The board also appointed department heads for 2021. Chuck Dewitt was not reappointed to serve as the Marshall County building Commissioner.
The following appointments were renewed and approved: Supervisor of buildings and Grounds Doug Masterson, Supervisor of Maintenance at the Marshall County Correctional Facility John Greer, Director of Marshall County Historical Society and Museum Linda Rippy, Inspector of Weights and Measures Jerry Huss, Highway Superintendent Jason Peters, Marshall County Veterans Service Officer Pam Schweizerbetz, Director of Emergency Management agency Clyde avery, Supervisor of Information Systems Michael Marshall, Human
Resource Director ann anglin, and County attorney Jim Clevenger will all continue to serve in their roles.
The new President and Chief Executive Officer of Marshall County Economic Development Corporation (MCEDC) Laura Walls was introduced to the Marshall County Board of Commissioners during the regular meeting Monday morning. Walls officially started three weeks ago; now that the holidays are over she expects to “hit the ground running” this week.
Commissioners extended the Emergency Declaration [Resolution 2021-01] for another seven days; effective Tuesday, Jan. 5 [today]. Marshall County Attorney Jim Clevenger reported that Marshall County had 4,609 COVID-19 positive cases; with a total of 81 deaths. He was unsure whether that number included data collected over the weekend.
