Shirley June Patten

Shirley June Patten (Hammonds), 82, passed away on Saturday Dec. 26,

2020 surrounded by her family.

Born in North Vernon, Ind. on June 14, 1938 she was the daughter of William and

Ulla (Akers) Henry. She attended North Vernon High School graduating with the class of

1956. Shirley received an

Associate’s Degree from Ivy

Tech in 1998. She retired as a secretary for the City of Plymouth Water Department.

She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Plymouth, Culver VFW ladies auxiliary, Eastern Star #26, and the Marshall County Sherriff Reserves for 13 years resigning in 2005.

She is survived by her children: Keith (Alicia) Hammonds of Plymouth; Kent (Cheryl) Hammonds of Plymouth; Kyle (Vonn Banks) Hammonds of Memphis, Tenn.; Carmen (Rex Bope) Girten of Plymouth; siblings: Jeanette (David) Webb of North Vernon; Lois Simpson of North Vernon; Sandra Horton on Indianapolis,; David Henry of Indianapolis; 14 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Virginia Gatturallis, Charles Henry, Don Henry, Bill Henry and Dorothy Dean.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9, from 12-2 p.m. at the Johnson-danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Dennis Wenzel officiating. Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
