Jan. 22 marks 48th Anniversary of Roe v. Wade & Doe v. Bolton
MARSHALL COUNTY — Jan. 22 marks 48 years since abortion was legalized by the Supreme Court in Roe v. Wade and Doe v. bolton.
In conjunction with the anniversary, The Right to Life of North Central Indiana is collaborating with the Greater Warsaw Ministerial Association to host a memorial service to honor the over 61 million babies who have been aborted; and the mothers and fathers who have been impacted by
that decision.
The event will be held on Saturday, Jan. 23 at 12 p.m. (noon) at the Kosciusko County Courthouse. The courthouse is located at 100 West Center Street, Warsaw.
Participants should expect the event to take roughly 30 minutes. Pastor Ronnie Patrick of New Beginnings Church and World Outreach will lead the program with prayer and officiate the message.

The Supreme Court voted 7 to 2 in favor of Norma Mccorvey “Jane Roe” that held that women in the United States have a fundamental right to choose whether or not to have abortions without excessive government restrictions; and struck down the abortion ban in the state of Texas as unconstitutional.
The Supreme Court voted in Doe v. Bolton to overturn the abortion law of the State of Georgia which only permitted abortion in cases of rape, deformity or severe or life threatening injury to the mother.
Those two decisions set a precedent that ultimately led to the legalization of abortion from conception to full term in some form in all of the 50 states.
