Leo Lichtenbar­ger

Leo Lichtenbar­ger, age 88, passed away on Jan. 11, at 9 p.m. at his home.

Leo was born the son of Roland and Neva (Crowl) Lichtenbar­ger on May 11, 1932 in Bisbee, North Dakota. He married the love of his life, Karen, in Plymouth. Leo proudly served his country as a member of the US Army, working as an MP while stationed in Korea. He worked for several years as a printer at the Plymouth Pilot News and the Gary Post Tribune, and worked for 30 years at the Lapaz Battle Stop. He was a member of the American Legion Post #385 in Lapaz. During his free time, he enjoyed boating, including performanc­e skiing during his younger years, and yard work. Leo especially loved his family, and spent time with all of his grandchild­ren, teaching them to drive, and to handle money (counting money and giving change).

Those who will miss Leo are his wife, daughter Terri (Kevin) Kemble, stepdaught­ers Pam Heims, and Lisa Watson, Son Ron Lichtenbar­ger, stepsons Lorne Heims, Bryan Heims, and Mike Heims. He is preceded in death by his parents, along with Mary Sattler and Flossie Dick.

In accordance with the family’s wishes, cremation services are being provided.

A private memorial will be held for the family.

A celebratio­n of Life will be held on Jan. 19 at 6 p.m. at the American Legion Post #385 in Lapaz, 100 West Randolph Street, Lapaz. Friends of Leo’s family are welcome to celebrate Leo’s life with the family.
