(Miller) Myers, 89, resided in

South Bend, passed away on

Tuesday, Jan. 12 at Memorial

Hospital. She was born to the late Curtis and

Bessie (Vanette) Miller on Oct.

6, 1931 in South Bend.

Josephine was a life-long resident where she married husband, Forest “Shorty”

Myers on Feb. 13, 1954 who preceded her in 2000.

She is survived by her loving children, Diana (Hal) Wilkens of Plymouth, Richard (Anna) Myers of Mishawaka, Lisa (Rodger) Smith of South Bend and Lori Weiler, also of South Bend, four grandchild­ren, Rebecca, Justin, Nicholas, and Taylor and four great-grandchild­ren, Richard, William, Peter, and Rebecca “Rose.” Josephine was also preceded by sisters, Violet Clark and Anna Hadaway and brothers, Curtis Miller, Jr., and Robert Miller.

A “good, Christian mom” and a Sunday School teacher, Josephine was always happy. She was a great mother who immensely enjoyed her children, taking naps, Dairy Queen treats, “Judge Judy,” and loved by her nieces and nephews. The family extends gratitude to Beacon Health, 11th floor nurses and staff as well as Heart to Heart Hospice for taking such good care of their Josephine.

Private services for Josephine will be held at Palmer Funeral Home – Guisinger Chapel, 3718 South Michigan Street, South Bend and burial will take place at Sumption Prairie Cemetery. Contributi­ons may be offered to Heart to Heart Hospice at 620 West Edison Road, #122, Mishawaka.
