Chargers remain unbeaten

PLYMOUTH – The Ancilla College men’s basketball team jumped out to a 20-point advantage in the first 10 minutes and then countered several Oakland Community College rallies to win a Saturday afternoon non-conference match-up 89-77.

Cortney Shorter led the Chargers (5-0) with 21 points, while Marco Beverly snagged a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Jakylen Thomas came off the bench to score 15. Kendall Perkins scored a game-high 36 points for the Raiders (4-3).

Ancilla is on the road for its next two games. The Chargers play at Muskegon on Tuesday and at Mid Michigan College Friday.
