Are LV, Bremen being overlooked?

-

Two area schools will compete at the Class 2a level. Laville is one of five teams that has double digits wins

in the wide open North Judson Sectional. The Lancers’ (13-8) opener against Hebron (11-11) Wednesday night is intriguing as it will be the first-ever meeting between the schools. They do have two common opponents this season: both lost to Westville by identical margins (three points), but against North Judson Laville has an 11-point win and Hebron a seven-point loss. The Lv-hebron winner ironically gets the winner of … Nj-westville … in the semifinals. Most likely, Boone Grove (15-6) or South Central (14-8) will play in the other semi. Laville did not play South Central this year and its game with Boone Grove was cancelled, adding to the mystery of this bracket. The Lancers are the defending sectional champ.

Key players to watch include:

Laville - Bobby Good, Leyton Czarnecki, Andrew Dill Hebron - Reece Marrs, Griffin Moore

Boone Grove - Trey Steinhilber, Mason Bills, Drew Murray

South Central - Brendan Carr, Trent Hudspeth, Brady Glisic

Bremen is the other area team playing in 2A and is part of Sectional 35 being played at Westview HS. The Lions received the bye and are in the opposite side of the bracket from the three top 15 teams in the field. While No. 3 Central Noble (23-1), No. 14 Westview (16-6) and No. 15 Churubusco (18-4) knock each other around to get to the finals, Bremen (9-13) most likely needs to get past a strong Eastside (15-7) squad to be the other team playing for the trophy. The Lions and the Blazers have never played, but both went up against - and lost to - Central Noble this season; Bremen by nine, Eastside by 22.

Key players to watch include:

Bremen - Carson Miller, Tony Hardin Central Noble - Sawyer Yoder, Connor Essegian Westview - Mason Yoder, Brady Yoder Churubusco - Landen Jordan, Jackson Paul
