Commissioners take Courthouse Clocktower restoration bids under advisement
Marshall County Commissioners opened up bids for the Courthouse Renovation Clocktower project. there were four bids with each bid having six alternate options that could be added.
Each bid had the same alternate descriptions. alternate one, remove existing storm windows and replace with new windows. alternate two, paint architectural elements. alternate three, remove existing and install new joint sealants around windows and doors. alternate four, remove existing sealant and install new joints
around column bases. Alternate five, repair existing limestone with masonry cleaning. Alternate six, existing interior thermal windows replacement.
The first bid was from Advanced Restoration Contractors from Indianapolis. The base bid was $915,000. Alternate one increases the base bid by $29,000. Alternate two increases the base bid by $40,000. Alternate three increases the base bid by $20,000. Alternate four increases the base bid by $8,000. Alternate five increases the base bid by $9,500. Alternate six increases the base bid by $8,000.
Advanced Restoration Contractors, in their bid, had a completion time between March 15 and Oct. 15.
The second bid was from Berglund Beyond Building from Chicago, Ill. The base bid was $1,350,000. Alternate one increases the bid by $35,000. Alternate two increases the bid by $60,000. Alternate three increases the bid by $24,000. Alternate four increases the bid by $2,500. Alternate five increases the bid by $165,000. Alternate six increases the bid by $25,000.
The third bid was from Midwest Maintenance Inc. from Piqua, Ohio. The base bid was $1,266,435. Alternate one increases the bid by $27,600. Alternate two increases the bid by $35,000. Alternate three increases the bid by $18,500. Alternate four increases the bid by $1,700. Alternate five increases the bid by $112,700. Alternate six increases the bid by $35,000.
Midwest Maintenance Inc, in their bid, had a completion time within 180 days after notice to proceed.
The last bid was from Slatile Roofing and Restoration from South Bend. The base bid was $1,390,000. Alternate one increases the bid by $11,200. Alternate two increases the bid by $48,000. Alternate three increases the bid by $33,900. Alternate four increases the bid by $4,250. Alternate five increases the bid by $145,000. Alternate six increases the bid by $84,147.
Slatile Roofing and Restoration, in their bid, had a completion time within 300 calendar days once given a notice to proceed.
The commissioners voted to have Peter Kim from Rowland Design take these under advisement and present a recommendation to the commissioners at the March 15 meeting.
