Mediliant acquires CTE Solutions
It was announced to employees last week that Culver Tool & Engineering Solutions (CTE) has been acquired by Mediliant, an orthopedic contract manufacturer based out of Switzerland.
“With greater financial resources and capabilities supporting us, we will be able to grow faster and provide a higher level of service and product offerings to our customers. Further, this growth should provide more opportunities to our employees,” said CTE sales engineer, Deven Berger.
according to CTE, there will be some minor changes at the top of the organization, but there should be very little differences in terms of day-to-day operations.
“In short, it will be business as usual,” Berger said. “We will have the opportunity to expand to support the European market at a level we have not had access to before. This will allow us to provide more opportunities for employees as we have access to growth and new product. We are expecting rapid growth in the next 3-5 years based on the high demand of the market.”
One of the bigger changes will be at the top of the company. Wade Berger will be transitioning to President of the Spine group for Mediliant Group. His focus will be on the customer relationships and sales. Lisa Berger will continue her role in employee relations. Mark Morris will become the President of CTE Solutions. Both Wade Berger and Mark Morris are investing in Mediliant Group and will be on the group’s board of directors.
CTE Solutions was established in 1950. They manufacture orthopedic implants and instruments with over 170 employees servicing O.E.M Spine and orthopedic device implant providers.
Medilant was founded in 2013 and manufactures medical devices from raw material till sterile packaged products.
CTE is the second US business acquired by Mediliant in less than six months. They acquired Medical Device & Implant, based in Lancaster, PA, in August 2020.
“Mediliant’s acquisition of both MDI and CTE Solutions is the initial step in forming a leading orthopedic contract manufacturing group whose members share a similar corporate culture, entrepreneurial spirit and a customer-centered approach to business. This joint venture is going to allow us to continue to grow,” said Berger.
Berger went on to say that together as a group, they will be focused on implants for spine, extremities, and trauma. “We will be able to learn from one another. We will have access to technology and capabilities we currently do not have such as sterile packaging. We will also be able to share resources to help support our customers’ product launches.”
