Samuel Langfeldt, age 75, passed away on April 5 in

Plymouth, after a courageous battle with cancer during the past year.

Sam was born the son of

Howard R. and Alberta (Huff)

Langfeldt on April 24, 1945 in Plymouth. He had been a lifelong resident of the area.

On June 9, 1968, Sam and

Patricia Carr were wed at the

Rochester Baptist Church. He spent a life-time as a farmer raising swine, beef cattle and grain. As he began to slow down with the farming he found enjoyment working at Culver Tool until he retired. While at Culver Tool, he worked in general maintenanc­e, and was well liked, and was known as a social coordinato­r there, enjoying the interactio­ns he had with his coworkers. He was a member of Farm Bureau and volunteere­d at David’s Courage, and had formerly attended the Sunrise Chapel. During his free time, he cherished attending his grandchild­ren’s events, as well as Notre Dame basketball games. He also enjoyed woodworkin­g, fishing, camping, and travelling to Arizona. He was known as a gardener, and gave sweet corn to many people over the years.

Those who will cherish memories of Sam are his loving wife, Pat, daughters Jennifer Stults and her friend Tim Thompson of Argos, Cindy (Greg) Surber of South Bend, son Joel (Tami) Langfeldt of Plymouth, brothers Paul (Sandy) Langfeldt of Plymouth, Edward (Linda) Langfeldt of Plymouth, his beloved dog, Razz, brother in law, Bob (Faye)carr Houghton, Michigan, and Also missing him are his grandchild­ren: Samantha Simpson, Jessica (Trent) Peterson, Katelyn (Tim) Stamberger, Kendra Langfeldt, Connor Surber, Alison Langfeldt, Elizabeth Langfeldt, and Emma Langfeldt. There are many nieces, nephews, cousins, and Aunt Loretta Huff (John)smith Bremen, Aunt Helen Slemons, Phoenix, Ariz. All of his Culver Tool friends.

Sam was preceded in death by his parents, and his son-inlaw, David Stults.

Visitation will be held on Monday, April 12, from 4 – 7 p.m. A funeral service will occur on Tuesday, April 13 at 11 a.m. Both services will be held at Deaton-clemens Van Gilder Funeral Home, 300 West Madison Street, Plymouth.

In light of the continuing Covid-19 concerns, wearing of masks and social distancing will be required. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos, Indiana. A meal will be served afterwards at community building at the Argos fairground­s.
