Dean A. Sauer

Dean A. Sauer, age 66, of Bourbon, passed away on Saturday, April 10, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

Dean was born the son of Eldon and Mary (Boyer) Sauer, May 10, 1954, in Bremen. He has been a lifelong resident of Bourbon, a graduate of Triton High School with the class of 1972, and a big fan of their athletics. Dean was a profession­al meat cutter working as Meat Department Manager for numerous area grocery stores. Later, Dean worked at the Del Monte plant in Plymouth. He also delivered for Pizza Hut, and worked at liquor stores in Bourbon, Etna Green and Argos. Dean loved to play his accordion and would sit on his porch and entertain all who would listen. Other interests included mowing other people’s yards just out of his kindness; he loved dancing, Notre Dame football, IU basketball, Chicago Bears and Cubs.

On Feb. 6, 1988, Dean married Tammy Mcintyre who preceded in death on Dec. 3, 2015.

Those left with loving memories are his children: Brandy and Jesse Fugate of Claypool, David and Robin Sauer of Bourbon, Justin Staublin of South Bend, and Jordan and Taylor Sauer of Plymouth. He was blessed with twelve grandchild­ren: Siera, Haley, Madison, Nevaeh, Hanna, Kiersten, Aiden, Brayden, Quinn, Kingston, Violet, Maxson, and one great-grandson Lucas; sisters: Becky Hayes of Warsaw, Jalane and Ron Ellinger of Plymouth, Mendy and Paul Holderman of Etna Green; brothers: Barry and Jan Sauer of Elkhart, and Tim Sauer of Warsaw. Also surviving are his parents Eldon and Mary Sauer of Plymouth and his fiancé Jeannie Wright of Bourbon. Dean was preceded in death by his brother-in-law Tom Hayes.

Friends may gather to share memories with Dean’s family Friday, April 16, 4 - 7 p.m. in the Bourbon First United Methodist Church, 204 N. Washington St., Bourbon. Funeral Services will be Saturday, April 17, at 1 p.m. Burial will take place in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.

Memorial contributi­ons may be made in Dean’s memory to Triton Athletics Department, Triton High School at Triton Drive, Bourbon, Ind. 46504

In keeping with current Covid 19 regulation­s “masks are required” as being mindful of social distancing during the visitation time and funeral service.
