PLYMOUTH — For those who feel comfortable returning to an in person group setting, the First United Methodist Church will temporarily hold its “in person” services at the United Church of Christ at the corner of N. Center and Adams streets. The UCC has very graciously opened their sanctuary for our use at 8:30 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Services will continue to be live streamed on Facebook and posted shortly after the service.

REMEMBER: masking and social distancing will be required, there will be no congregational singing and if you want a bulletin, please print one at home and bring it with you as no bulletins will be provided.

Today’s Liturgists: 8:30 a.m. Susie Kreighbaum and at 11:15 a.m. Carol Beiter. Thomas Boys is the pianist for the 8:30 am service. Pianist Kay Finlay will be playing “The Old Rugged Cross” for the prelude at the 11:15 a.m. service.

Pastor Toni’s message: “We continue our “Dare to Dance Again” series this week, looking at John 24:36b-48. The sermon title is “While in Their Joy: Dancing Sure as Family.” Sometimes we are unsure about our steps in this world. For the disciples, even “while in their joy” at seeing Jesus post-resurrection, they were still “disbelieving and wondering.” But 1 John reminds us that even though we may not know our next steps, we can be sure in them because we are “beloved” children of God and we will be like the one in whose steps we can sure follow--the resurrected Jesus.”

OFFERING OUR RESOURCES and our ENERGY: Our dance with God needs fuel and energy. If we are to dance the dance of justice, find the steps of service, invite others to dance with us, we must have the resources that will assure that we have the music and the leadership, the tunes and the teachers to continue this holy dance. It’s a dance of generosity, too. Following the lead of Christ calls us to pour ourselves out for the sake of love. Won’t you give now so that the dance of God can be full and free in this place?
