PLYMOUTH — Drivers of 410 Non-wing Sprints and 600 Nonwing Sprints put some horsepower in the middle of the week at Plymouth Speedway.

It was a green-to-checkered 410 Non-wing Sprints event with a winner who had a mechanical issue right before the start of the race.

Jadon Rogers (Worthington, Indiana) had a crew that was quick to fix the issue so he could start on the pole of the race. He would have to work the track through the race as Ricky Lewis (Ventura, california) jumped out ahead of the field when the green flag flew. Rogers had his sights on the leading position and worked different grooves to try and pass Lewis.

They traded positions in turn two on lap 20, but Lewis got the spot back in turn four. as the pair made their way through lapped traffic, Rogers was able to weave in-and-out of traffic and use the lapped cars to his advantage to take the lead on lap 22.

Rogers was able to win the race with Lewis less than a second behind him in second place. Mario clouser (chatham, Illinois) started in the fourth position and quietly moved into the third spot early where he remained throughout the remainder of the 25-lap contest.

“The racetrack really came in and got racy,” said Rogers . “This car was amazing and I had fun racing Ricky. I felt bad that I got into him a little bit there, but we got through it.”

The 600 Non-wing Sprint race found Jack Hoyer (Frankfort, Indiana) at the front of the race by lap 7 after restarting after a caution and diving to the bottom groove of the track to get by leader Eastin ashbrooke. He was able to maintain the lead despite several cautions throughout the race.

Darin Naida (adrian, Michigan) moved up to the second spot and challenged Hoyer for the top of the running order. The pair crisscrossed each other in the turns, but Hoyer was able to hold Naida to second by the end of the Feature.

Kole Kirkman (Kokomo, Indiana) started seventh on the night and kept inching up the scoreboard after every caution. after ashbrooke left the race and Dylan Woodling lost ground after running high out of turn 2 in the latter part of the race, Kirkman was able to take home the thirdplace trophy.

Hoyer said, “That was a pretty good race. Darin (Naida) was sliding around during the race and thought he was going to get by me on the last lap.”
