American Rescue Plan event held
PLYMOUTH – A grassroots event held for Marshall County Residents was held on Saturday in Plymouth Centennial Park to hear about the direct relief President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan is bringing to Hoosiers across Indiana in all 92 counties. The event was sponsored by the Indiana and Marshall County Democratic Party and featured State Senator JD Ford and State Representative Maureen Bauer.
State Senator JD Ford – District 29 stated “Here’s what every Hoosier should know: President Joe Biden’s American Rescue Plan is revolutionary and will help Indiana build back better from the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, this game-changing law is putting shots in arms, relief checks to Hoosiers, and good-paying jobs to help expand infrastructure needs like broadband internet access. Democrats are ready to go on the offense and share the great news the Rescue Plan provides our families, and let’s never forget that not one Indiana Republican supported this groundbreaking law when Hoosiers needed it most.”
“The Indiana Democratic Party’s American Rescue Plan is delivering for Hoosier families where they need it most: childcare and our public schools. The Rescue Plan is helping erase the childcare deserts crippling our state while equipping our cities to provide hazard pay and much-needed raises for our Indiana teachers” said Maureen Bauer, State Representative – District 6.
In attendance at the event, Argos Town Board Member Angela Resendez thanked the legislators for their support of small towns and funding for public education. Resendez stated “The American Rescue Act has allowed the Legislature to give teachers a much overdue pay raise. As a teacher starting my [career] this year teaching in the Laporte public school system this will provide much needed relief, opportunities for my children, and allow me to support my family on a living wage.”
