Larry Richie

Larry Richie passed away in his home in Plymouth, on Nov. 1. He was born March 4th, 1947 in Laporte to the late JB and Beatrice Richie.

He was an avid sports lover and enthusiast, especially basketball and golf. He was inducted into the Knox Hall of Fame for his years with the Redskins basketball in 1994. He loved music and loved the classics, from Elvis to George Jones. He was also the original “#girldad” with 4 daughters.

On Aug. 12, 1967, he married the love of his life, Patricia (Bodine) Richie, who survives. He is also survived by daughters, Jillaine Richie (Glen Maggard) of Flat Gap Ky., Jamie Richie (Chris Paul) of North Judson, and Lindsay Burns (Matt) of Lakeland, Fla.; 12 grandchild­ren- Chelsea Banks, Corey Banks, Chance Skaggs, Chad Skaggs, Chasity Skaggs, Chloe Draper, Galaxy Paul, Eternity Paul, Aubrie Burns, Chloe Burns, Gauge Burns, and Emerie Burns, three great grandchild­ren AJ, Ryleigh, and Wesley and siblings Barb Mitchener (Ray), Lillian Small (Brad), Dan Richie (Susie) and Melissa Frain (Brian).

He worked for Pactiv Corp for over 20 years in University Park, Ill., where he worked his way into management showing his clear leadership­s skills, on and off the court and he retired from Lear Corp in Plymouth, in 2012.

Preceding him in death is one daughter- Lori Richie, parents, JB and Beatrice Richie, great-granddaugh­ter Avery, and siblings Regina Risner, Pruda Dunno, and Garry Richie. A celebratio­n of life is being planned.
