Ruth A. Keyser

February 5, 1933 - October 29, 2021

PLYMOUTH - Ruth A. Keyser, 88, passed away on Friday, Oct. 29, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Plymouth.

Born on Feb. 5, 1933 in Goshen, to Oscar L. and Chloe B. (Dillman) Sailor. Ruth attended Goshen High School graduating with the class of 1951.

She married Robert Keyser on Feb. 22, 1953 in Goshen, he preceded her in death on Aug. 7, 1981.

Ruth worked for Miller’s Grocery Store in Goshen while in High school. She also worked for Main Street Togs Children Store for six years before they closed. Ruth loved her flowers, her and daughters would go to just about every greenhouse in the area just to make the right selection of the flowers that she wanted. Ruth and a group of her friends would meet twice a month at the Lodge, order lunch and play Mexican Train Domino’s. She enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners for her family and reuniting with all of the family at annual family reunions.

Her children and many others will always remember her as the one of the sweetest people in the world, to always do things the right way and not to be selfish. She was a member of the 1st United Church of Christ. She is survived by her children: Nancy Keyser of Plymouth; Sandy (Joe) Zehner of Plymouth; Mark (Shelia) Keyser of Elkhart; brother Otis (Liz) Sailor of Noblesville; grandchildren: Josh Zehner, Stephani (Tom) Hazlette, Kelli (Judy) Sanders as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert, sister’s Bernice and Gladys.

Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 8, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Johnson-danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow with Reverend Charles Krieg officiating.

Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery, Plymouth.
