June S. Koss of Culver, IN passed away Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Catherine Kasper Home in Donaldson, IN.

June was born on Oct. 19, 1929, in Chicago, IL to Hattie and Otto Kempf. During her formative years, June resided in Illinois and Canada.

She married her husband, Dave, on June 18, 1949. Their fifty-five year marriage was one of love, laughter, family and faith. Together they raised two children in Harvey, IL.

Upon retirement, June and Dave relocated to the shores of Lake Maxinkucke­e in Culver, IN and spent many wonderful years there. June was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She sang in the choir and supported the UMW Thrift Shop, as well as, being involved in many other ministries of the church.

June was pre-deceased by her husband, parents and sister, Jean Kindred. She is survived by those who cherish her: son, Dan (Jeanne) Koss, daughter, Becky (Pete) Septoski, five grandchild­ren; Bryan Koss, Justin Koss, Katy Monahan, Holly Draher, Kelsey Day and ten great-grandchild­ren.

June leaves a lasting legacy of faith, grace, gentleness and kindness to those who have known and loved her. She was a Proverbs 31 woman! Her love of painting, gardening, music and birds, along with always being present for those in her life, are just a few of the qualities and gifts that made her precious, and a joy and honor to know. She loved her family unconditio­nally.

During her last years, June resided at Catherine Kasper Home, where she was well cared for and truly loved by the staff.

June’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, April 30 at Wesley United Methodist Church (511 School Street, Culver, IN 46511) beginning at 11 a.m., immediatel­y followed by a luncheon at the church.
