• The Plymouth Park Department presents the Fall Barn Sale from 8 a.m. till 1 p.m. It will be located at Centennial Park at the Horsebarn. • Hurray for Fall Shopping! On Wednesday, Oct. 5 starting at 11:30 a.m. at the Christo’s Banquet Center, located at 830 E. Lincolnway in Plymouth, there will be a Women’s Connection. The special speaker for the event is Lisa Saruga from Fremont, Michigan. Lisa will address Demolition Day and how it affects our lives. Special Feature will be Ron Natgy from Burkes Outlet, which is new to the Plymouth area. Ron will share his store experience. Special Music will be provided by Stephanie Johns. We meet at 11:30. a.m. On the first Wednesday, October 5, we shall be in Mentone at our Classmate Jack Simpson’s Cafe. It is right on the main street. • Marshall County Retired Teachers Associatio­n will meet on October 6 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Plymouth. We will gather at 11 am and lunch will be served at 11:30 am. Reservatio­ns need to be called in to Marj Snider at 574-936-2927 by October 1. Barbara Holcomb will be speaking about the importance of volunteeri­sm and the opportunit­ies available for seniors. Election of officers and planning programs for the next year are on the agenda for the business meeting.

• St. Michael’s Parish Fest takes place on Friday through Saturday. Friday is Adult Night. It will take place in the school’s playground. On Friday, the Beer and Wine Garden will be from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., the food trucks will be there from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m., Sentimenta­l Journey Jazz Band will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., Music by Brent Wiscons will be from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. St. Michael Catholic Church is located at 612 N. • St. Michael’s Parish Fest takes place on Friday through Saturday. Saturday is Family Day. From 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. there are games, activities, vendors, and a cake walk. From 10 a.m. till 5 p.m. (or runs out), there will be delicious authentic mexican food. From 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. there will be Mexican music. There will also be music provided by St. Michael’s School Children. St. Michael Catholic Church is located at 612 N. Walnut Street in Plymouth.

• Plymouth Collectibl­es Expo will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus, located at 901 E. Jefferson Street in Plymouth. There will be comics, toys, collectibl­es, and more. Come check out all the vendors and show some support.

• The Argos Octoberfes­t will be from 12 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Argos Community Park. There will be food trucks, a beer garden, live music, outdoor movie, corn hole tournament, bonfire, hayrides, bounce houses, vendors/ crafters, laser tag, pumpkin decorating and more.

• Race for Reading 5K and Fun Run with Potawatomi Wildlife Park’s Family Fun Fest. Race to benefit Marshall County Reading Council. Come support literacy in the community by running or walking in this benefit race. Monies collected will be used to: Support the Young Author’s Conference for local school kids to meet an author in person, provide books for the Books for Babies program which gives two free books to each newborn in Marshall County. Bring the family out to a fun event in support of two amazing organizati­ons. Run a race, grab some food, play games, pick a pumpkin, and enjoy live music. The race is located at Potawatomi Wildlife Park in Tippecanoe. The Fun Run will be at 5 p.m., the 5K will be at 5:15 p.m. following the fun run. Food, games, and fun from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Preregiste­r for the 5K is $20/Race Day fee is $25. Pre-register for the fun run is $10/ Race Day fee is $13. • Relay for Life of Marshall County is Saturday, Oct. 8 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. at River Park Square. The community is invited to join in to support our purpose of defeating cancer and celebratin­g survivors. The Halloween theme, “Scare the Pants Off Cancer”, will feature music, food vendors, “Tent or Treat” candy laps, inflatable­s, a silent auction from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and a luminary ceremony at 9 p.m. This is a community family event and all are invited to attend.

• NIPSCO Retirees luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. at the Brass Rail, located in downtown Plymouth. All retirees, friends, and family are welcome to join.

• The Walnut Township Board and the Walnut Township Trustee will be holding a meeting. It will be held at 6:30 p.m. at the B&R Building, located at 194 S. Michigan Road in Argos. The agenda includes review of the third quarter report, adoption of the 2023 budget and any finding concerning objections filed, and consider any other township business.
