Sharon L. Lowry

BREMEN — Sharon L. Lowry, 79, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2023 at Signature Health Care of Bremen.

Born on July 14, 1943 she was the daughter of Cecil Paul Louis and Bertha Irene (Thomas) Schmeltz. She attended Tyner High School graduating with the class of 1962. In Walkerton, Indiana on June 15, 1962, Gale took a young lady by the name of Sharon L. Schmeltz, to be his wife. They had one son and four girls, and would share 56 wonderful years of memories and life experience­s, he would precede her in death on Jan. 22, 2019.

Sharon worked for John Glenn School Corporatio­n for 20 years before retiring in 2003. She was known as a woman of enduring strength that truly overcame immense odds throughout her life. Sharon was loving and caring mother, sister and grandmothe­r to her family and will be deeply missed by all that knew her well.

Sharon enjoyed cross-stitching anything that she could get her hands on, and also a die-hard Young and the Restless Soap Opera fan.

She is survived by her daughters: Traci (James) Klingerman of Walkerton; Darla (Gary) Pantzer of Lakeville; Robbyn Sheldon of North Liberty; Alicia (Edward) Adams of Indianapol­is; sisters: Gloria (Charles) Krieg of Bremen; Margaret Birk of Clayton, NC; as well as several grandchild­ren, great-grandchild­ren and greatgreat grandchild­ren.

Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Scott Lowry, sister Donna Wood, brother Paul Schmeltz, grandson Troy Klingerman, son-in-law Don Sheldon.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Johnson-danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. with brother-in-law Pastor Chuck Krieg officiatin­g.

Private burial will be in the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton.
