Glenn is still one of the best around

WALKERTON — Glenn’s Falcons were ousted in Monday’s sectional final by (3A) #6 New Prairie but the simple fact is the sectional final game is not an unusual place for John Nadolny’s teams to find themselves at the end of a season.

Since Nadolny arrived at the school in the early 90’s the Falcons have established themselves as one of the best programs in the northern half of the state of Indiana.

Nadolny graduated from Bethel in 1985 and started his coaching career with seven years at the helm of his Alma Mater - Riley High School - where he posted a 144-77 record. Four years after leaving South Bend, Nadolny took over the reins at Glenn and neither party has regretted that move.

Glenn has won less than 15 games just twice in the last 10 years and has posted 20 or more wins three straight years, and four out of the last six years, omitting COVID.

Glenn has won 10 sectionals, nine conference titles, and five regionals, appearing in the final four in 2003 falling to Frankton in the semi-final game 1-0. This is a region that features some of the best in the state including powerhouse Andrean.

In 2019 Nadolny joined the prestigious 500-win club for coaches in the state of Indiana and just four years later finds himself on the verge of 600 wins.

The 2023 Falcons take their spot in the long line of Glenn’s success with a final record of 21-6, third place in the NIC, a team batting average of a gaudy .369.

The Falcons had three players: Chase Miller (.430), Joe Chrapliwy (.506) and Brycen Hannah (.587) over .400, with Hannah adding 40 RBIS.

Headed to the final on Monday both Hannah (5-1, 1.55), and Chrapliwy (5-1, 2.50) were also having stellar years on the mound.
