Tim Harman County Council - At Large

-

My name is Tim Harman and I am running for the County Council in the Republican primary. I am the current Vice President of the County Council and the Budget and Finance Chairman in charge of leading our $36 million budget and fiscal policy.

I am the founder of Bourbon Street Pizza and Harman Restaurants, Inc. We have four stores in Marshall County and four others in nearby locations. We employ over 100 people and are in our 19th year of business. I have been married for 26 years to my wife Jennifer with whom we have four children, ages 14 to 24. I am a graduate of Plymouth HS and I have both a bachelor's and master’s degree from Florida Atlantic and Florida State Universities. Overall, I have lived in Marshall County for 50 years, and in Bremen since 2009. I am a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bremen, and I am firmly prolife.

Politically, I am a staunch conservative and I believe in limiting the size and scope of government, but I understand the need to provide vital government services such as infrastructure, health, and public safety at a sufficient cost that is considerate of the taxpayer. I believe in fiscal responsibility and proficiently knowing our county finances in order to manage them well.

I firmly believe in fighting for what is right, standing on principle, and serving the public. It’s always about principle, it’s always about the people - whether it’s opposing large industrial solar that will adversely affect neighboring property owners and our agricultural lands, or whether it’s prioritizing the people’s desire to fix more roads. It’s always about principle, it’s always about people.

Being on the County Council has been a true blessing and an honor. Typically, the Council focuses on managing our county finances, but I enjoy advocating for people and anyone is welcome to call me at 574-315-9084 or email me at harmanforstaterep@ yahoo.com. Thank you for reading, and I would be honored to have your vote on Tuesday, May 7th.
