This week at the Punxsutawney Memorial Library
PUNXSUTAWNEY — Here are some upcoming events at the Punxsutawney Memorial Library:
• Aug. 1 – Sept. 22: Summer Reading Challenge. Complete two bingos on our Summer Cards and receive a free book. For our patrons ages 18-plus.
• Aug. 1-31: Youth Oceans Reading Challenge. Same as our adult challenge, but for youths up to 10 years of age.
• Aug. 8-26: PA Lottery Scratch-Off Raffle. $50 worth of PA Lottery scratchoff tickets. Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. Must be 18 years or older to purchase/win. Proceeds benefit the library. This week at your library:
Saturday, Aug. 6
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Used book donations will be accepted.
• Noon to 2 p.m.: Read to a (Licensed) Therapy Dog! Area youth ages three to 17 can come read stories to Shellby the Goldendoodle. Monday, Aug. 8:
• 10:30-11:30 a.m.: Adult Coloring Club. Bring your own materials or borrow ours. For patrons ages 18-plus.
• 11 a.m. – Noon: Summer Oceans of Possibilities Party for Wees! Must have turned in your reading logs to Mr. Nate prior to this party and/ or have been registered for the program. Tuesday, Aug. 9:
• 10:30-11:30 a.m.: Adult Coloring Club. Bring your own materials, or borrow ours. For patrons ages 18-plus.
• 11 a.m. – Noon: Summer Oceans of Possibilities Party for Pre-K! Must have turned in your reading logs to Mr. Nate prior to this party and/ or have been registered for the program. Wednesday, Aug. 10:
• 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Used book donations will be accepted.
• 11 a.m. – Noon: Summer Oceans of Possibilities Party for Elementary Groups 1 & 2! Must have turned in your reading logs to Mr. Nate prior to this party and/or have been registered for the program. Thursday, Aug. 11:
• 11 a.m. – Noon: Summer Oceans of Possibilities Party for Tweens and Teens. Must have turned in your reading logs to Nate prior to this party and/or have been registered for the program.
• 5:30 p.m. - ?: Catastrophic Book Club. Tonight we will be discussing Diane Chamberlain’s novel “The Stolen Marriage.” New members are welcome. Friday, Aug. 12:
