-

William R. “Bill” Brush, age 67, of Brookville, died on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023, at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor in Brookville after a brief illness.

Bill was born on Oct. 26, 1955, in Brookville, to the late James Barr and Donna (Harriger) Brush. He attended the Brookville Area High School and graduated with the Class of 1973.

He drove various types of commercial vehicles throughout his career. Bill’s favorite by far were the many years he spent driving chartered buses for Fullington Trailways and Meyers Bus Company. It was rare for a group traveling with Bill “to not request” that he be their driver on future trips. He had a knack for meeting and becoming friends with people forever.

He was a member of John W. Jenks — Hobah Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of Punxsutawney, and Jefferson Royal Arch Chapter of DuBois. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

He is survived by two daughters, Nicole (Jon) Defoor, and Katie Brush; one granddaughter, Sierra Dinger all of Punxsutawney; four brothers; Stephen M. Brush, James R. “Bud” (Lori) Brush, L. Scott (Diana) Brush, and John A. (Tammey) Brush, all of Brookville; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 2, 2023, from 7 to 9 p.m., with a Masonic service beginning at 7 p.m., at the Carrier Funeral Home, 2834 Maplevale Road, Brookville. A second viewing will take place on Friday, March 3, from 10 to 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. A funeral service will take place immediately following the second viewing on Friday, March 3, 2023, beginning at 11 a.m., and officiated by Pastor Phil Conklin. Interment will take place privately at the Brookville Cemetery, Brookville.

In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested that memorials may be made in Bill’s name to the Brookville Food Pantry, 142 Allegheny Boulevard, Brookville, PA 15825. Arrangements are under the care of Carrier Funeral Home.
