William M. “Terry” Tersine, 87, of Punxsutawn­ey, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 26, 2023, at Christ the King Manor in DuBois.

He was born April 28, 1935, to Michael and Margaret (Fairman) Tersine in Punxsutawn­ey.

Terry was a member of Saint Cosmas and Damian Catholic Church, Punxsutawn­ey, where he served as an usher for many years. He was also a member of the Punxsutawn­ey Eagles F.O.E. 1231.

He retired as a store manager from the Quaker Market and briefly worked for Riverside Markets. After Terry’s retirement, he worked for Yates Excavation until 2020.

Terry enjoyed going to his camp, scratch lottery tickets and spending time with family.

He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Mary Sue Tersine and husband Maury Marshall, Hillsboro, Texas, William Tersine and wife Carol Ann, Red Hill, Thomas J. Tersine and wife Pam, Talkeetna, Alaska, and Carol Ann Wehrle and husband George, Rossiter; six grandchild­ren, Anthony Tersine and wife Janelle, Terry James “TJ” Tersine and wife Amy, Amy R. DeBold and husband Chris, Christina Tersine and fiancé Sam Benson, Matthew and Andrew Wehrle; four great grandchild­ren, Dean Tersine, Jemma Tersine, Kira Tersine and Hayley Tersine; and brother Richard Tersine and wife Michele.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Celine Tersine, on March 3, 2021; and an infant son, James Tersine.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at Saint Cosmas and Damien Catholic Church, 616 W. Mahoning St., Punxsutawn­ey, with Msgr. Joseph Riccardo as celebrant.

Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
