Larry D. Hinderlite­r, 87, Rossiter, passed away Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Mulberry Healthcare in Punxsutawn­ey. He was born July 16, 1935, in Grange, the son of the late Burton Blair & Arietta Archer (Rugh) Hinderlite­r.

He graduated from Punxsutawn­ey High School before enlisting in the U.S. Army, where he served during the Vietnam era.

After returning home, Larry worked inspecting cars for the railroad. He loved any sporting event he could watch, and he enjoyed going for walks.

Larry leaves behind two daughters Candice Alvetro (Hinderlite­r) of DuBois and Zina Siverling of Rossiter; a son, Duane Hinderlite­r Sr. of Punxsutawn­ey; a sister, Wanda (Edwin) Knarr of Michigan; eight grandchild­ren, Jessica Hinderlite­r of Erie, Brandi (John) Burdick of DuBois, Duane (Nikki) Hinderlite­r Jr. of Knoxdale, Justin Snelick of DuBois, Amber (Dale) Barrnoff of Punxsutawn­ey, Kie Brown of Rossiter, Drake (fiancé Amber Bogacki) Marie of DuBois and Jayden Lee of DuBois; and 17 great-grandchild­ren.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a son, Cash Elliott Hinderlite­r; a brother, Donald Hinderlite­r; and a son-inlaw, Timothy Siverling.

Public visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2023, from 12 to 2 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday from 12 to 1 p.m. at the Leo Nedza Funeral Home in DuBois. A funeral service will follow on Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Military honors will be accorded by the VFW Honor Guard from Post No. 813. Burial will take place in Lakelawn Memorial Park.
